Price Guide and Information for 2010-P Great Law of Peace Native American Dollars

Value of 2010-P $1 Great Law of Peace Native American Dollar Coin

Just like all of the Native American Dollars before it, the Great Law of Peace Native American Dollar has a pure copper core with an outer layer of manganese and brass. The front shows Sacagawea looking towards the right. The reverse is an intricate illustration showing five arrows, pointing left, with a belt binding them together. The inscription on the reverse reads “United States of America, $1, Haudenosaunee, Great Law of Peace.” This coin tells the story of the Great Peacemaker and his spokesperson, Hiawatha, who famously burried their weapons at the base of the Great White Pine Tree. This trees’ leaves had five needles which symbolized the five tribes of Indians: Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca. The bundle of the five arrows is to show the strength of the tribes when unified. This coin will typically be found between the ranges of MS65 and MS68.
