The 1958 Doubled Die Obverse is among the rarest of all Lincoln cent varieties — only three examples are known to exist. Like the celebrated 1955 Doubled Die, it shows strong doubling in LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, but in far fewer surviving pieces, making it one of the premier rarities of the 20th-century U.S. series. Any suspected 1958 Doubled Die should be authenticated by a major grading service. If you believe you have one, we would very much like to hear from you.
