History, Information, and Value of 1781 Daniel Morgan at Cowpens Medal
Value of 1781 Daniel Morgan at Cowpens Medal
This rare medal commemorates Admiral Zoutman. Obverse features a large ship sailing to the right. The ship is under full sail and the flags are moving in the wind. Curving upwards around the ship is the name Zoutman. The reverse is plain with no legend or images. The artist did not sign this piece. Probably the medal was intended to be worn on a watch chain, hence the plain reverse.
The obverse and reverse text read as follows: Zoutman | and | No Legend.
