Value of 1806 C-1 Draped Bust Half Cent

W-3 | Small 6 / Stemless Wreath | C-1, B-3 | Breen dies: 2-B. | Easily one of the most available Philadelphia Mint varieties within the entire Draped Bust half cent series. Perhaps 4,500 to 6,000 pieces could be accounted for today and there are numerous Mint State coins within that estimate. Obverse die same as preceding, with the durable reverse die also seeing duty for varieties W-10, 11, and 12 of 1804 and W-1 of 1805. The ideal candidate for a type set at any grade level.

Value of 1806 C-2 Draped Bust Half Cent

W-1 | Small 6 / Stems to Wreath | C-2, B-1 | Breen dies: 1-A. | It is thought that some 175 to 225 examples of this rare die pairing are known. Surprisingly, many AU examples of the variety are extant, but just one specimen is called Mint State. Obverse with bottom of 6 about even with the bases of 180, reverse die with six berries left and five berries right in the wreath.

Value of 1806 C-3 Draped Bust Half Cent

W-2 | Small 6 / Stems to Wreath | C-3, B-2 | Breen dies: 2-A. | By far the rarest die pairing of the date as well as one of the prime rarities within the Draped Bust half cent series. Perhaps just 20 to 30 examples are known in all grades with the finest seen for the variety just Fine in grade. Obverse with bottom of 6 higher than the bottoms of 180, reverse the same die as preceding. This is a widely cherished and eagerly sought variety among half cent aficionados.
